Oliver Myers: 1 year old

Wanna know how I know? Because when it’s super hot outside (like 500 billion degrees… okay, maybe not that much, but it’s sure hot) she takes me to that big cold bathtub place and puts me in. This weekend, I got to go in much further than I ever have before…

 I had so much fun. I didn’t get to stay in for very long because as you can see… Mommy has a MAJOR sunburn and she didn’t want to stay in the pool for a long, long time. That’s okay though. We get to go again today. I love summer.

So Mommy took me to Auntie Barb’s house today. I love Auntie Barb’s house. There’s so many things to do there. Cousins Cody and Dylan are there. Uncles Tim and Justin stop by all the time. She has a fan on her ceiling… there’s all kinds of things to do. But today when we got there, Mommy made me put on these funny short things and put that greasy stuff all over my body to protect me from that big bright thing in the sky…

 If I had known what was coming next, I might not have let her do that without me fussing.

Cousin Cody was in charge of the camera… and outside we went.

 It was neat. It was kinda like a big bathtub outside. I was excited to get in. You can’t really tell from this picture. Mommy says this is my concentrating face. I like to call it my serious business face.

We got in. Cousin took some pictures…

 You can’t see it in any of these pictures, but I got in the water. Up to the top of these weird short things. I did it. And I kinda liked it. We’re going to go back on Sunday. Tomorrow we have baseball to watch. Maybe I will make Mommy take pictures of that too. I hope we get to do this swimming thing all summer. It’s really fun.

Okay, so today is my four month birthday. I had such a big, big day. I didn’t go anywhere, but there was a lot going on around my house. First of all, I slept for 11 hours last night. That’s right, 11 hours. Of course, I got my shots yesterday and wasn’t feeling very well, but I still slept for 11 hours. Before I show you pictures of today’s events, let me show you the coolest thing ever!

 This, my friends, is my new blanket. That’s right. It’s mine, all mine. My mommy made it for me (Auntie Barb helped). It has bugs on it, and snakes, and I love, love, love it. I play on it A LOT!

Okay, now that that’s out of the way, let’s get to my big day.

I woke up in sort of a bad mood, even though I slept for so long. I still wasn’t feeling super great, but Mommy tried to feed me my cereal and bananas anyway. I didn’t really like that so much. So she just gave me a bottle. I was better, but still didn’t really think today was that big of a deal. Then, Mommy got out the camera…

 Yeah, I don’t like having my picture taken that early in the morning. It’s just not okay with me.

After breakfast, Mommy said that I could play for a little while so that she could eat. She put on Monsters, Inc in the background so that I would have something to listen to. Good thing too, she had crunchy cereal this morning. So I played with my toys and watched a little bit of the movie.

Then, it was nap time. I fell asleep on the floor. It’s something I like to do in the middle of the morning.

After I woke up from my nap and ate, my mommy and I played on the floor for a long, long time. I love playing with Mommy.

       As you can see… we played a lot! It was so much fun. After we played for a while, Mommy and I took a nap. A very long nap. We were so tired from all that playing. Plus, I still wasn’t feeling very well. Mommy noticed I had a red bump where I got my shots, and I was running a little fever so she gave me some yummy purple stuff she called Tylenol and we took a nap. When we woke up… Daddy was home!!!

 As you can see, he fed me, and then we played for a while so that Mommy could make dinner.

Then, Mommy tried to feed me some cereal with bananas again. I didn’t like it, so she tried to feed me my normal cereal.

 Yeah, I wasn’t having it this evening. Maybe I will feel like it tomorrow.

After I ate it was bathtime. Mommy and Daddy took lots and lots of pictures in the bathtub.

As you can see, it was a very long day. I was so tired after my bath that it didn’t take long for Mommy to rock me to sleep….

So, it’s off to bed I go. Good night everyone! I had a really awesome day. I can’t wait for my next birthday!!!

Mommy was talking to Grandma today and Grandma said that I needed to get to writing, so here I am. Writing. Because I don’t have enough to do with all the playing, and sleeping, and growing, and eating that I’m doing. *Sigh* what I do to please my public. It’s tough being a rockstar.

I have some more pictures from my trip to Wyoming and Colorado. I know that I shared some of them already, but Mommy just put these on the ‘puter today, so I thought I would share.

 For those of you who don’t know what these are… they’re doggies. I had no idea what they were, I sorta remember the little one from when I was a few days old… but I had never seen the big one before. Apparently these two have names, the little one is Tulip (or Babysitter) and the big one is T-Bone. They belong to Grandma and Bill. All they wanted to do the entire time I was there was lick and sniff me. The little one wouldn’t leave me out of her sight for more than a minute, and everyone kept laughing because she was being so protective of me. I kinda like her. The big one is strange. I’m glad we don’t have any of these doggie things around my house. I don’t think I would like them very much.

 I spent a lot of time at Grandma’s house sleeping. I didn’t know that Mommy was taking pictures of me sleeping until I found this one. Darn that Mommy. She’s pretty sneaky with the camera. All she had to do was tell me that she wanted a super cute picture of me sleeping and I would have pretended for her. But noooooo, she had to go and disturb my afternoon nap. Rude. I was so tired.

 Great grandma and grandpa came to visit me while I was at Grandma’s house. I really like those two. They’re super nice, and they’re fun to look at. Great grandma has never been a great grandma before. I think she’s doing a pretty darn good job. She was letting me sit on her lap and play with her hand. Really I wanted to stick it in my mouth, but my hand was already in there. I couldn’t figure out how to get both of them in there.

 Everyone wanted to get a four generation picture since we have one of daddy’s family. I was okay with that, except in this one… I’m the only boy. Can you tell that we’re all related??? Everyone says that I look like my daddy except my great aunt Lisa, she says that she sees Mommy in me… I think it’s the nose.

 Grandma has this awesome light that I wanted to get… she was the only one that would hold me up close enough to get it. I like lights. They’re shiny, and pretty, and colorful, and shiny… wait, what was I saying again?

After being at Grandma’s house I went to Papa Don and Gram’s house… I met my newest cousin Shayleigh. She’s super nice and was willing to share her swing with me. We played on the floor for a little while… but then it was nap time for her. Aunt Dana was nice too. I want to go back and visit them again.

It was a good trip. When we got home, I went to go see my doctor. Mommy wanted to see if it might be okay to start me on cereal….

As you can see… it was okay. I’ve been eating it for about two weeks now, and I love, love, love it. Mommy just can’t feed me fast enough sometimes. It’s super yummy. Ooh! And I discovered something new.

Apparently, those are my feet. I kinda like them…. hmmm… I wonder if they’ll fit in my mouth. I should really check that out.

All in all, it’s been super busy around here. Mommy says that I’m getting bigger and bigger by the day. I don’t feel any different… maybe more rested. Mommy says that I sleep about ten hours a night. That seems like a really long time, but before I know it, I’m up again. It’s a pretty good life I lead. Tomorrow is Father’s Day. Daddy and I are going to do stuff all day together. I’m pretty excited about that. I’ll be turning four months old in a week. Hopefully I’ll be able to update my blog then… if that Mommy ever uploads the pictures on time. She’s pretty busy though playing with me and stuff. Oh well… soon I will be able to play all by myself. Until then, we’ll just keep doing what we’re doing! Talk to you all soon!

So my mommy made me to get my pictures taken. I really didn’t want to. She said that everyone would be so happy to see them, but I didn’t care. I was resting peacefully in my car seat, and then all of a sudden I was laying in a stupid basket and there was this lady in my face trying to get me to smile. I didn’t really like her very much…

 I thought she was kinda wierd looking. So I didn’t smile at all at her. She kept laughing at me and making wierd sounds… it was amusing. Mommy didn’t like the fact that I wasn’t smiling, so she tried to make me do it too. That just made me upset, so I cried. I wanted to go back to sleep. I mean really, what’s the point of all the flashing and backgrounds and all that stuff. It’s stupid. Mommy gave me a bottle, that made me stop crying, and then she took my clothes off. That made me feel a little better.

 Really, all I wanted to do was suck on my hand the entire time. I liked the feel of the fabric next to my feet… but it didn’t taste as good as my hand. Finally they got me to move my hand out of my mouth…. I didn’t like that very much….

 So I put it back in…

 Hee. That’ll teach them.

Then the lady took pictures of my hands and feet, she said that she wanted it for some special effect picture that she could do (whatever that means). Mommy said that I could post that one later. After the blue fabric, they let me lay on my tummy for a while. I liked that. It was fun, fun, fun. I almost smiled for them a few times. Mommy says I’m a ham. I don’t know what that means, but I think it’s a good thing.

 They were shaking this noisy rattle thing at me. That’s why I have that silly look on my face. I thought I might be able to steal it from them… but no such luck.

After they let me lay on my tummy for a while, they put me tummy first on this high chair thing… I think it makes me look like I’m popping out of a box. It’s pretty cool!

 As you can see. I kinda liked that. It was fun. Then it was back on my tummy with this blue blanket over my head. I started getting the hang of posing for the crazy lady. I figured the sooner I did that, the sooner we could be done…. boy was I ever wrong.

Mommy got me dressed and then I got to lay on my tummy some more. That was kinda wierd… they put me between some blocks… parents. Anyway, these are daddy’s favorite. I hope you enjoy them!

I know it. I’m cute. Anyway, we got lots of copies. Mommy is sending them out. I hope she keeps one of each for me. I want to see how much I’ve grown. I can’t believe I’m almost 4 months old.
